What we are looking for

NEBOSH is seeking a new Board member to support its world class ambitions ahead. A Trustee who will bring strong regulated training and assessment experience combined with a strong values base to contribute to the strategic direction of such a unique charitable organisation.

Key accountabilities and responsibilities

Essential
Significant experience within an awarding organisation or a regulated training and assessment environment.Understanding of the government regulation of awarding bodies within the UKUnderstanding of the changing impact of AI across education and assessmentExperience of or contribution to the development of assessments and regulated qualificationsExperience of developing or contributing to the development of a corporate strategy for a growing organisationExperience of or contribution to the setting, approval and monitoring of financial strategy and budgetsAbility to constructively challenge and hold the executive team to account whilst providing support and advice to the senior leadership team.Commitment to the values and integrity of the organisationCommitment to equality, diversity and inclusion
Desirable
Understands environment and market in which NEBOSH operates, education and or Occupational Safety and HealthAbility to operate in an international, regulated and multi-stakeholder landscape Knowledge and experience of accounting and financial management issues for charities and/or businessA good understanding of corporate governance and Charity Commission compliance.
Time commitment & remuneration:
  • NEBOSH holds 4 Board meetings per year. It is anticipated that the Trustee would spend 10 – 16 days each year engaged on activities for NEBOSH which may include participation on one committee (4 additional meetings a year)
  • The Trustee role is un-remunerated. Reasonable travel expenses will be paid
