McLean Public is currently working with East Sussex County Council on the appointment of their interim Head of Highways. The Highways Service plays a crucial role in various aspects of life for the whole county, delivering essential services for residents, businesses, and visitors. In this 6–9-month assignment (inside IR35), the post holder will be responsible for the strategic leadership and management for the service. They will ensure the successful execution of high-profile projects and highway maintenance and contract management programmes, collaborating with ESCC’s highway service provider, Balfour Beatty Living Places.
Day rate is flexible, but the post holder must be able to be on site 3 days a week. Start: ASAP
