The V&A

Director of Design, Estate and Public Programme

The role

The internationally renowned and iconic V&A is evolving into a family of museums dedicated to the power of creativity. Our mission is to champion design and creativity in all its forms, for everyone, to advance cultural knowledge and inspire makers, creators, and innovators everywhere.

The Director of Design, Estate and Public Programme leads a large multi-disciplinary team comprising the Estate, Projects, Design, Exhibitions and Sustainability departments, to deliver an outstanding and unique visitor experience across all of our sites, and connecting audiences with a world inspired by creativity. Working with the best established and emerging architects, designers, engineers and expert consultants, you will ensure that all of the V&A’s physical interventions are ambitious, imaginative and of the highest design quality.

We are seeking an inspirational leader who combines a design sensibility with the ability to deliver complex programmes; someone who will set a high bar for strategic leadership in the planning, development and implementation of all design and building led initiatives.
